Notification delivery
- Repeated deliveries are recognized by event id; Stripe documents that notifications can be delivered more than once.
- Delivery order: not guaranteed by the provider.
- Make sure your webhook handler is idempotent, for example by recording processed event ids.
Known limitations
- Thin events are recognized but not analyzed; paste the related object snapshot instead.
- Event types outside PaymentIntent, Charge, Refund and Dispute are shown without lifecycle semantics.
- Event timestamps have one-second resolution.
Examples
- Successful Stripe payment: PaymentIntent created, charge succeeded, PaymentIntent succeeded. Includes embedded customer and card fields that PandaPayLens hides.
- Stripe: insufficient funds: A card_error API response with decline_code insufficient_funds.
- Stripe: authentication required: A PaymentIntent that needs 3D Secure, with the off-session decline that triggered it.
- Stripe: duplicate webhook delivery: The same event delivered twice, with receipt timestamps.
- Stripe: events arriving out of order: payment_intent.succeeded arrives before the events that preceded it.
- Stripe: api_error with unknown outcome: An error that does not say whether the request took effect.
- Stripe: state change after success: A PaymentIntent reported as processing after it had succeeded.
Provider documentation
PandaPayLens is not affiliated with Stripe. Pasted notifications are never treated as verified: PandaPayLens does not check webhook signatures.
